MCA-T Design and Build Distribution Network Rehabilitation and Extension

Location: Mwanza, Dodoma, Tanga, Morogoro, Iringa & Mbeya

Distribution network

The project entails the design of all encompassing network extensions including the reinforcement of the existing networks, creating interconnections between substations, and extending the existing network to connect households and businesses that previously did not have access to electrical power.

This project includes the extension and rehabilitation of existing lines in six regions of Tanzania:

  • Dodoma Region – 377km of 33kV lines, 86km of 11kV lines totaling 464km (Pike Electric Contract)
  • Morogoro Region - 207.5km of 33kV lines
  • Tanga, Morogoro, Iringa and Mbeya Region - 372km of 33kV lines and 45km of 11 kV lines totaling 417km

Training local People

Symbion is committed to using local labor and will train its local work force. This training will increase the skill set of a limited labor pool. We will provide line construction training with the assistance of the Northwest Lineman College, Idaho, at a training facility in Morogoro, Tanzania.
