Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton Tours Symbion Power Plant, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Symbion Power CEO, Paul Hinks, led Secretary Clinton as well as Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation, Daniel Yohannes, on a guided tour of the 112MW Symbion Power Plant. Mr. Hinks explained the state of Tanzania's current power crisis and how Symbion is working to be part of the solution through additional investment in power generation.    The tour was followed by remarks from Secretary Clinton, Mr. Yohannes and Mr. Hinks which underscored the value of American investment in Tanzania, the importance of building local capacity through training, and the critical role of corporate social responsibility initiatives like Symbion's HIV/AIDS prevention education program. The audience included dignitaries, international and Tanzanian media as well as locals and a group of trainees from the Symbion Power Center training school in Morogoro.

The stop at the Symbion plant was part of Secretary Clinton's visit to highlight U.S. corporate investment in Tanzania.
